Who It's For

The Reading Fox is for Years 11–12 students who are already capable in English and want to go further. These are students who can write a solid essay but want to write one that stands out. Students who do well but know there's a gap between where they are and where they could be. If your child is aiming for Band 6, a state ranking, or simply wants the kind of expert-led teaching that most classrooms can't offer, this is the room they should be in.

Most of our students are already capable in English — they're not failing, they're just not being pushed. They come to us because they want the kind of expert-led teaching, feedback, and challenge they can't always get in a classroom of 25+ students. The difference between a Band 5 and a Band 6 is rarely about working harder; it's about learning to think and write with more precision.

At The Reading Fox, English extends beyond the exam. We work closely with students to build the analytical habits, writing precision, and intellectual confidence that don't just improve HSC results — they change how students think for life.

Confidence built on genuine understanding

Students who rely on memorised responses can struggle as soon as the question changes. We help students build a deeper understanding of their texts, their ideas, and the way strong arguments are constructed. That confidence gives them something reliable to draw on, even under exam pressure.

Progress built through better habits

The students who improve the most aren't always the ones who find English easy. They're often the ones who learn to think carefully, revise honestly, and use feedback well. We help students develop the habits that make steady, meaningful progress possible.

Personalised guidance, not one-size-fits-all teaching

Every student arrives with different strengths, texts, goals, and gaps. That's why we don't take a one-size-fits-all approach. We work closely with the student in front of us, helping them understand what they need to improve and how to get there.

Precision through intentional writing

In English, strong ideas only earn marks when they're expressed with clarity and control. We teach students how to shape a focused argument, use evidence with purpose, and respond precisely to the question in front of them. The goal isn't simply to write more, but to write with greater intention.
